Better. Place. To work.
A home base for senior IT professionals. This is why we built it — and where you fit in.
Why Deviam was built.
We started Deviam because we were tired of watching good people get a bad deal.
Between the three of us, we've spent decades inside Finnish IT consultancies — as developers, architects, leaders — so we saw how the business really works. Senior people, the ones who actually deliver, billed to customers at 120–160 €/h and handed a fraction of it. The rest vanished: into glossy offices, layers of middle management, and owner profit. And far too often, the person doing the work was treated as a resource to be sold — a line on a utilization report — not the professional they'd spent fifteen years becoming.
We didn't think that was fair. We still don't.
So we built the company we wished had existed. One where the person doing the work keeps most of what it earns. Where nobody gets pushed onto a demotivating project to keep a number green. Where a senior professional is trusted to act like one — no titles to hide behind, no politics to survive, just good people doing work they chose.
That's where you come in. We're not looking for resources to fill a bench — we're looking for the people the whole thing is built around. Seniors who are done being sold, and ready to be backed instead. If that's you, let's talk.
More than a fair salary.
You keep what you earn
Half of your invoicing, plus a share of the year's profit. The same formula for every consultant. Fair isn't a slogan here, it's the maths.
Trusted, and backed
No titles, no politics, no one over your shoulder. We hire professionals and treat you like one — you make the calls on how the work gets done.
Only work you'd say yes to
No forced matches, no bench pressure. You choose your projects — because real motivation brings the best out of people, and the customer feels it.
Solid senior community
A team of senior professionals, led by three founders who came up doing the work themselves. People who make each other better, and who understand what your day actually looks like because they've lived it.
Freelance pay, employment safety.
The upside of going independent — half of your invoicing, a good year shared — without the downside. No dry-spell panic, no unpaid sick days, no going it alone. Steady employment underneath, freelance economics on top.
The money, and the floor under it
- 50 % of your invoicing — around 7 500 €/month on average
- A share of the profit in a good year — the same formula for every consultant
- 3 000 €/month guaranteed between projects — no bench panic
- Holiday pay at your holiday-season average, not a stripped-down base
- Sick pay based on your last six months' average
- Occupational healthcare
People you'll actually want around
- Weekly badminton and a shared gym session
- A weekly team breakfast
- Monthly lunch and a straight look at how the company's doing
- Summer and Christmas parties, sports events together, movie nights
- Genuinely good colleagues — real support and sparring, not just Slack
On your terms
- Flexible hours — build the day around your life
- A great modern office you're always welcome at — but never required
- Not remote-only, not office-only: work where you're at your best
- Top-of-the-line kit — phone and laptop, your choice
- Professional tools, including AI — licences paid, chosen by you, not dictated by a policy committee
Who we're looking for.
Seasoned in your craft
Typically ten years or more, and genuinely senior in whatever you do — engineering, architecture, data, design, product or delivery leadership. People who've made the hard calls, seen what fails, and don't need hand-holding. Mastery of the craft, not just years on a CV.
Communication & business sense
Our people work inside the customer's team, so the work is only half technical. You can explain a trade-off to a non-technical stakeholder, disagree well, and keep sight of why the work matters to the business. Doing the thing right is the baseline; understanding the customer's business is the job.
Fairness, trust and courage
Our values aren't a poster — they're the filter. We look for people who treat others fairly by instinct, who earn trust by owning their work, and who have the courage to say the honest thing, to a teammate or a customer, when it's easier not to. If those three read as obviously how it should be, you'll fit right in.
From first coffee to first invoice.
Half an hour, that's it
Over a video call or an actual coffee — whichever is less trouble for you. No CV theatre, no commitment. You tell us what you're after; we give you the unvarnished picture of how Deviam actually works.
What you're after
We go deep on what you're great at and what you actually want to work on — so we're matching you to projects you'd choose, not just filling a slot. This moves at your pace, not a recruiter's quota.
You pick, then meet
We bring you real options and you decide — no one is pushed anywhere. When something clicks, you meet the customer so both sides can confirm the fit before anything's signed.
First invoice
Contract, kit, a proper onboarding — then you're in, doing work you chose and getting paid for it. Coffee to invoice, on your terms.
There are no bad projects. Only bad matches.
Forcing people into demotivating projects hurts everyone. We'd rather work hard on the match than clean up the mess later. If that sounds like your kind of place, let's talk.
