Built by consultants who'd seen enough.
Deviam was founded in 2022 by three people with 10–20 years each inside Finnish IT consulting — running consultancies, architecting systems, leading delivery. We had seen the industry from every seat, and two things kept bothering us.
Customers were overpaying. Junior people fresh out of school billed as "consultants" at 80–100 €/h. Seniors billed at 120–160 when the same caliber is available for 95–120 — if the company in between is run lean and isn't chasing 20 % margins.
And the people doing the work were underpaid — watching most of their invoicing disappear into corporate overhead, fancy offices and owner profits. In the worst cases, treated like resources to be sold, instead of true professionals they are.
So we built the company we wished existed — the one where you don't have to choose between paying people fairly, charging customers fairly, and running a healthy business. Done right, they're the same thing.
The name? Dev I Am. We're all developers at heart — developing software, teams and business for our customers. That builder instinct runs through every Deviam consultant.
Founder-led, hands-on.
Three founders, a team of 34, and one high standard to meet.
Aki Koikkalainen
Co-founder · CEO15+ years leading and growing technology companies — CEO and partner at Solinor, then director at Gofore before founding Deviam. His thing isn't spreadsheets, it's people: he's spent his career building organisations through culture, leadership and team development. Deviam's model — fair to the people who do the work — is that conviction turned into a company.
Kimmo Sukanen
Co-founder · CTO20+ years as a developer and software architect — Ixonos, Siili Solutions, and his own consultancy before Deviam. He has shipped the kind of systems that can't fail, including national, EU-regulated registries. As CTO, Kimmo is the reason the technical bar doesn't bend: when he says someone's good enough, they're good enough.
Qaiser Siddique
Co-founder · COOCOO at Deviam, and the person who turns complexity into delivery. Across Solinor, Gofore and large transformation programmes, his work has always been the same: clarify ownership, align teams, nurture people to grow. He believes execution comes from clarity, fairness and strong people leadership — which is most of what running Deviam's day-to-day actually is.
Fairness. Trust. Courage.
Take care of your people, they take care of the rest
We believe that treating people fairly — be it a customer, employee or a partner — is where every successful partnership begins. It's our job to take care of our people, so they can in turn take care of our customers. And satisfied customers, in turn, are great environments for our people to shine. A virtuous circle that takes us all a long way.
We trust our people, so you can too
We hire professionals and treat them like professionals — real autonomy, real ownership, room to make the call. Trusted like that, people act like it's their name on the line, and that's exactly what earns yours. Trust given becomes trust earned.
To be honest when it's easier not to be
To say no to a bad project match rather than trying to desperately make it work. To openly share skill gaps and weaknesses, instead of making stuff up. To challenge you when we think it's needed — still always professionally and always on your side. Having courage might lose us quick deals, but the relationships we build are built to last.
